Obsession with the aluminum

A fun and affordable American Icon.
Working ahead of schedule on the wood. It was too tempting to see how pretty it would look with the ugly white stenciled leaves sanded off and the wood restored. I used a combination of alcohol, stripper, and sanding to clean up the cabinet doors, and surrounds. I stained with two coats of chesnut colored stain, then followed with tung oil for a nice not too shiny finish. The results so far are very nice. A soft glow from the highly grained elm.
